The majority of cannabis side effects are short-term and last only for a brief period. CBD is very well-tolerated, even in larger doses. Any side-effects that show up with CBD are more likely a result of interaction with other medications. Temporary side effects of THC include dry mouth, red eyes, slower reaction times, coordination issues, increased heart rate, and memory loss. These are part of the compound’s psychoactive properties, which can be concerning but not necessarily harmful. Neither CBD or THC is fatal.

While the beneficial compounds of cannabis are tremendous, there are possible risks involved, especially when using it long term, at a young age, or due to impaired judgement and motor skills. Some side-effects associated with the use of cannabis include:
